Working with a co-located multi-disciplinary team to complete a $1 billion program.
As structural engineer of record, Ruby worked together with a co-located design-build team at Barton Malow’s office to complete the structural design and steel shop fabrication drawings for this large four-site program for General Motors. Each site was unique and an aggressive 2-year schedule was implemented for the program, which included over 4,000,000 total square feet and over 25,000 tons of steel.
The Ruby LeanSteel® team provided both design drawings and shop details to avoid delays and to meet GM’s schedule. Ruby’s integrated process provided faster 3D coordination with the follow-on trades and accelerated steel erection. Ruby’s engineers handled all Requests for Information internally and worked hand-in-hand with detailing partners to ensure that the projects were delivered successfully with steel arriving on-site as intended by the design team.
