LeanSteel: Design. Build. Better.

GM Technical Center Pedestrian Bridge

Warren, Michigan

Engineering a connector quickly, using an expedited design and detail process.

GM’s goal of creating a more collaborative environment for its engineering teams within the separate Estes and Cole Engineering Center buildings was realized with the design and construction of a 310-foot, 140-ton pedestrian connector between the two buildings. For our client Ideal Contracting, Ruby provided design/detail services, erection procedure, heavy lift engineering, connection design and foundation design for the new pedestrian bridge.

With a tight 7-month schedule, Ruby’s LeanSteel® team coordinated the design and fabrication of the steel within 30 days of review and approval of shop drawings. The expedited process helped Ideal’s construction team to stay on schedule and within budget.
